All that squeaking is not amusing at all. In this article, I will give you some useful tips and hacks on how to overcome this problem. So let’s just skip to the main part!

Let’s face it, a sliding glass door just looks nice. It’s got a sort of elegance to it that appeals to anyone who likes to make their home as lovely as possible.
I know me and my family enjoy ours since it gives us a lovely view of the outside and our porch. Since it’s not always prudent to go outside, the door at least allows for a kind of second-hand enjoyment.
However, let’s not kid ourselves. These doors have a few problems.
Unlike most other doors, they’re much harder to soundproof and they’re definitely going to need it sometimes. After all, even interior doors are much sturdier and thicker than them, which means sound can pass through easily.
This isn’t normally a huge issue, but what if you have one of these problems crop up:
-You suddenly have very noisy neighbors move in and they’re right in the direction of your sliding doors. You’re going to be treated to noise, more noise and then some noise for dessert.
-Construction work starts up and while most of the noise can at least be muffled, the glass doors let it all in. Definitely not an ideal situation, nor one you want to find yourself in.
-You get a spell of bad weather. It happens, all too frequently these days, that bad weather hits us unexpectedly and you can bet on it being loud as well as unpleasant.
While there are many more, let’s not dwell on them. Let’s try, instead, to both hone in on the problem and then solve it.

No matter if you are a serious carpenter that makes a living from his honest job or just a crafter out of a hobby, you have to keep in mind one thing: those who are supposed to enjoy your work the most, usually don’t.
Can you imagine the dread on your wife’s, children’s or neighbors’ faces whenever you step into your workshop? Just by thinking about your table saws and jigsaws would make them all pale and running for something to cover their ears with.

Much better picture, isn’t it?

In all honesty, I never quite understood the appeal of boats and cruising in them until I was a fair bit into adulthood. It just seemed like a pointless risk to me, the sort of thing you do when you feel like getting the same enjoyment out of lying at the beach is too ordinary for you.
My mind has been changed, though not entirely, by relatively recent events. My family and I were invited to go on a friend’s boat, out into the water to cruise and have fun.
My husband was loving every moment, acting like he was going to buy about 4 different boats as soon as we got back. My kids loved it even more, somehow, taking photos and just having a blast.
Then the noise became noticeable. An ungodly, core-shaking level of loudness that nearly ruined it for me.
I kept thinking about suggesting various solutions and ways to mitigate this to the boat’s owner. Let’s go into them now.

A chimney might be a really problematic area when it comes to soundproofing. Well, not that much for soundproofing as much as like source of the noise.
There are several types of noises that you can hear through your chimney. Firstly, you can hear the wind, scratching and banging noise coming down through the chimney.
Secondly, the chimney is like a resonating box of the guitar. It’s hallowed and a great sound transporter. If the walls happen to be thin then you might hear the noise coming from other room through the chimney- just like the noise from ventilation.
However, there are several simple solutions to your problem. I recommend you to go with the 1st and 2nd one, and save the third one if previous two fail to soundproof.
I have stopped chimney wind noise in my house and I got only to the first 2 methods- they did the job just fine. The last one is the most reliable, but luckily, I didn’t need it for my problem.
Now, let’s check out these 3 methods to soundproof your chimney.
