Use Dawn Dish Soap and a Broom To Clean Your Bathtub (SO easy!)

Keeping a tidy home is my passion, but even I have my cleaning Achilles heel – the bathtub!! Over time, it collects stubborn soap scum and mildew, making cleaning a tiring and daunting task.

Luckily, there's a simple solution to cut through the grime and get your tub sparkling. With just Dawn dish soap and a broom (with plastic bristles), you'll be amazed at the results - and how easy it is!

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Apply a liberal amount of dish soap along the sides of your bathtub, ensuring full coverage. You can also apply some soap to the bottom of the tub, but exercise caution to avoid creating a slippery surface.
  2. Take a broom with plastic bristles and begin working the soap into the surfaces of the tub. Use firm but gentle strokes to effectively distribute the soap and loosen the buildup of soap scum and mildew.
  3. Focus on areas where the soap scum and mildew are most concentrated, such as around the drain and along the edges of the tub. Continue scrubbing until you notice the grime starting to break down and dissolve.
  4. As you scrub, you'll notice the dish soap cutting through the grease and grime, much like it does on dirty dishes. This action helps to lift away the buildup, leaving behind a clean surface.
  5. Be mindful of the soap's slippery nature, especially on the bottom of the tub. Take care to avoid any accidents or slips by ensuring the surface remains relatively dry and safe to walk on.
  6. Once you've thoroughly scrubbed the tub, rinse away the soap residue with warm water. Use a clean cloth or sponge to wipe down the surfaces and remove any remaining soap scum or residue.

This bathtub cleaning hack is incredibly easy and straightforward, requiring minimal effort and just a couple of household items!
